Short Elephant Story
Joe Parker - Sept. 1, 2001
Two elephants were walking on the plain when they noticed a baby zebra sipping from the watering hole.
"Hello, little zebra," said Harry, who was the older, larger and more friendly of the two elephants.
"Stuff it, Harry," replied the zebra. "I'm sipping."
"Pardon me," said Harry as he walked away with his elephant friend.
Years later, Harry the elephant was sick and dying under the Great Shady Tree of the plain when the very same zebra, now much older with a thinning mane, brought Harry a glass of water to ease his pain.
"We've come full circle, my little zebra," whispered Harry, closing his eyes and lifting the glass with his tired trunk. "It is now my turn to do the sipping."
